Diego Díaz Confident in FC Andorra Turnaround After Loan Arrival

Diego Díaz, the 21-year-old forward on loan from Racing de Santander, voiced strong confidence in FC Andorra's ability to overcome their recent poor form during his official presentation to the media.

The attacking midfielder, who has trained with the squad for a week, emphasized unity in the dressing room despite three consecutive defeats after an initial victory over Ceuta. He has appeared briefly so far, playing 11 minutes in the loss to Valladolid. "There's no doubt in the dressing room; we're all very relaxed because we've only played four matches and the Segunda División is a long season. We're sure we'll turn it around," Díaz stated. He described the group as young but clear-headed, reinforcing a sense of calm ahead of the next league fixture.

The transfer closed at the eleventh hour on the final day of the summer window, with the deal announced the following day. "Racing told us 24 hours before the market shut that this opportunity had come up, and in about two hours we decided to come here," the player recounted. Leaving Cantabria marks his first time away from home. "It's a huge step to join a club like FC Andorra in this category, and I'm thrilled," he added.

Díaz highlighted how the team's style aligns with his associative play and vision. Last season, he scored eight goals for Racing's reserve side in Segunda RFEF. This year, before the loan, he debuted for Racing's first team in La Liga against Villarreal. Manager Carles Manso has encouraged him to stick to his strengths: linking play, shooting from distance with his powerful strike, and pressing diligently.

While praising the squad's quality, which exceeded his expectations, Díaz avoided setting firm personal targets. "This is my first step in a category like Segunda División. We'll see what I can bring as the games progress," he said.
