- Team shifting to balanced play under Piqué, Nogués, and bench coach Manso.
- 20-year-old ex-Galatasaray midfielder adaptable in midfield roles.
- Expects entertaining match vs. possession-based Castelló.
Efe Akman, FC Andorra's Turkish midfielder, attributes the team's improved form to growing confidence from recent results, including the 1-0 win at Granada and a draw at Sabadell.
In comments ahead of Sunday's Lliga Hypermotion match against Castelló, the 20-year-old former Galatasaray player emphasized the squad's balanced play. Despite his technical strengths suiting possession-based football, Akman welcomes the shift toward greater defensive solidity under coaches Gerard Piqué and Jaume Nogués, with Carles Manso leading from the bench. "We are a good team with the ball and we always want it, but as a footballer you have to compete on both sides—attack and defense," he said. "You need to perform well in both phases, and I think in the last matches we have defended very well."
Akman, son of former Turkish international Ayhan Akman, said the recent outcomes have boosted morale after earlier struggles. "When you win, confidence rises, and I believe we are more confident now," he added. The player, in his second season with the club, feels adaptable across midfield roles and fully at ease with his teammates and life in the Principat.
He expects an entertaining game against Castelló, one of the division's better footballing sides. The visitors favor possession and attacking play, which could lead to opportunities for both teams.
FC Andorra has also organized a €50 supporter bus package to the October 18 derby at Girona FC's Montilivi Stadium, including travel and a 6:30pm kickoff ticket. Independent tickets are available for €25.
