FC Andorra Coach Manso Demands Intensity After 1-0 Loss to Valladolid

FC Andorra coach Carles Manso issued a stern warning to his players after their 1-0 defeat to Real Valladolid at Estadio José Zorrilla, insisting the team cannot repeat the poor first-half display that led to an early own goal by Diego Alende.

Manso reserved his sharpest criticism for the opening 45 minutes, where the side lacked the basic drive to compete aggressively in duels and impose intensity from the start. "There are things that must come as standard from all players, like the desire to go at it, to want to compete and win the duel against the opponent," he said. He described the half as a blow that demands self-reflection, stressing these fundamentals must precede any tactical model. Such lapses, he added, are intolerable in Segunda División, where every detail counts, and the club cannot afford to gift opponents 45 minutes.

The loss extended Andorra's winless run to three matches following earlier defeats to Eibar and others. Despite the setback, Manso noted a strong response after halftime adjustments, including substitutions like Lautaro Spatz and Stefan Golubovic, which shifted the structure and allowed dominance over a fading Valladolid attack. Golubovic fired multiple efforts, Aceves drew a fine save, and Solozábal hit the post, though the team lacked ruthlessness in the opposition box to find an equalizer.

Manso praised Moró Sidibé's physicality in one-on-ones and Lautaro de León's return from a quadriceps injury, where the forward started to regain match rhythm and showed pressure and resolve. Teammate Lautaro echoed the halftime demand for character and self-respect, saying it is time for self-criticism while remaining positive: "We're on the right path. It's only matchday four—no need to panic."

While refusing to doubt his broader approach, Manso called for consistent competitiveness across both halves and sharper finishing to turn chances into results in this unforgiving league.
