FC Andorra Coach Manso Demands Intensity After 1-0 Loss to Valladolid

FC Andorra coach Carles Manso delivered a firm rebuke after his team's 1-0 loss to Real Valladolid at Estadio José Zorrilla, marking their third straight defeat in the Segunda División season. He demanded greater intensity, character, and competitiveness, especially after a dismal first half, warning that such lapses must not recur.

Manso refused to question his overall tactical model but highlighted missing basics like aggression in duels and the drive to compete from the outset. The own goal by Diego Alende left Andorra trailing early, prompting a sharp halftime message. "There are things that must come as standard from all players," he said, describing the result as a "hard blow" to prompt reflection in the dressing room.

Adjustments at the break proved effective. Substitutions including Lautaro Spatz and Stefan Golubovic shifted the structure, dominating a Valladolid side that faded offensively. Golubovic notched multiple shots, Aceves forced a key save, and Solozábal struck the post, but Andorra again failed to score—extending a run of two clean sheets conceded after earlier goals against Ceuta and Celta Fortuna.

Manso praised Moró Sidibé's one-on-one battles, physicality, and potential for growth, while noting Lautaro de León's return from a quadriceps injury. The forward started and played the first half as planned to build minutes, providing pressure and character. Lautaro confirmed the halftime call for "character and self-respect," adding: "It's time to stand up, be self-critical, and stay positive. We're on the right path. Though positives emerged post-restart, Manso stressed Segunda División's unforgiving nature and called for sharper finishing in both boxes. The winless streak, following losses to Eibar and earlier foes, underscores the need for rapid corrections.
