Grandvalira Resorts Sees 4% Visitor Rise in Summer Season

Grandvalira Resorts recorded a 4% rise in visitors across its stations during the summer season, driven by good weather and strong uptake of new attractions such as the Big Jump Park in El Tarter and the Les Petjades de l’Ossa family trail in Encamp.

The overall increase spanned sectors including Ordino Arcalís, Grandvalira, and Pal Arinsal. Ordino Arcalís welcomed more than 60,000 visitors from 6 June to 13 September, matching 2025 figures while boosting average customer spending by 8.15%. The Mirador Solar de Tristaina at Pic de Peyreguils has now surpassed 520,000 visitors since its 2021 opening, with access continuing until 1 November. Grandvalira Mountain Guides reported sustained demand for solar tours, including an August eclipse event that drew over 250 participants. The Refugi de Sorteny logged more than 1,500 overnight stays, up 10% from the previous year.

In the Grandvalira sector, the council-backed Laberint de Soldeu and Big Jump Park in El Tarter together exceeded 4,000 visitors in their debut summer. Mon(t) Magic Family Park in Canillo lifted both attendance and spending, while Golf Soldeu in Soldeu gained members and remained open until 27 September.

Encamp's Funicamp transported 13,208 passengers, a 1% year-on-year gain and 7% higher excluding the prior year's La Purito event at Cortals d'Encamp. The 8 September Meritxell Day summit attracted 1,131 cyclists, bus 4x4 tours surpassed 3,000 users with over 10% growth, and Orri del Cubil received more than 1,000 visits by late August. The Tourism Department, in partnership with Grandvalira, organized catch-and-release fishing for 500 children at Cubil lake and 100 at Orri d'Encenrera. New features included the Petjades Enlairades sculpture and the Les Petjades de l’Ossa trail, which issued around 1,800 passports.

Cycling remained a highlight, with Grandvalira Bike Trails' 111km e-bike network popular in Canillo, Soldeu, El Tarter, Encamp, and Grau Roig. New additions featured the family-friendly Cabirol loop at Pla d’Espiolets, Molleres at Forn de Canillo, and the 6km Tamarro Flow Trail from Llosada to El Tarter base.

Pal Arinsal saw Bike Park usage climb 3.4% and total summer activities increase 7.8%, aided by the 2025 Bike World hub and Escola Bike training. The station hosted the 11th Whoop UCI Mountain Bike World Series, drawing 26% more spectators than in 2025 amid clear weather, and secured hosting rights for the next three World Cup seasons. The Bike Park operates weekends until 12 October.

The results underscore Grandvalira Resorts' appeal for year-round family activities, sports, and mountain experiences.
