Kassius Robertson Unveiled as MoraBanc Andorra's Key Veteran Addition

Kassius Robertson, the Canadian shooting guard, was officially unveiled as a key addition to MoraBanc Andorra on Friday at the CTO in Ordino. The 32-year-old arrives from Gran Canaria with ambitions to regain his top form after a physically challenging season marred by injuries.

Robertson described his initial weeks in the Principality as a "very easy" transition and expressed eagerness to take on broader responsibilities beyond scoring. "Now I'm much more of a veteran," he said, emphasizing his intent to provide leadership and experience to several teammates new to the ACB league. Having previously played for Obradoiro, Valencia Basket, Joventut, and Gran Canaria, he views Andorra as a prime opportunity to rediscover his rhythm in one of Europe's top competitions.

Club president Aixàs praised Robertson as a proven scorer but highlighted his playmaking, passing, defensive effort, and competitive drive. Sporting director Jordi Ardèvol echoed this, calling him a "scoring reference" with far more to offer, based on early training showings.

Ardèvol gave a positive assessment of the summer-built squad, noting its high physical level and relentless fight. "The team doesn't give up any ball easily and battles to the end," he said. Despite three preseason losses—including against Barça—the group has shown intensity from day one. Robertson agreed, stressing that effort and grit must be immediate, while team chemistry, systems, and execution will develop over time.

No new point guard signing is planned, even with James Akinjo sidelined by a groin overload that Ardèvol described as "not serious at all." Players like Robertson, Luka Bottiroli, and Aaron Best can cover minutes there, as foreseen in the roster design. Only a long-term injury would prompt a rethink.

Both Robertson and Ardèvol expressed confidence in the project's foundation as the team pushes through preseason.
