Andorra to Host Toughest Titan World Series MTB Finale in 2027

The event in Encamp introduces an all-mountain parcours billed as the series' hardest, exploiting Andorra's rugged terrain while prioritizing rider safety and local integration. It joins established stops in Morocco, Mexico, and beyond.

Key Points

  • Inaugural Creand Titan Mountain Andorra event set for June 25-27, 2027, as series finale.
  • Features prologue plus two stages with 2,000-2,500m elevation each in Pyrenees.
  • Includes traditional and e-bike categories; organised by RPM Sports and Clayton Sport.
  • Aims to boost year-round tourism, broadcast on DAZN with celebrity appeal.

Andorra will host the inaugural Creand Titan Mountain Andorra cycling event from 25 to 27 June 2027, joining the Titan World Series as its fifth stop and the finale of the calendar.

The multi-stage mountain bike race, organised by RPM Sports in partnership with Clayton Sport, was announced on Monday at the Solanelles viewpoint restaurant in Encamp, drawing about 50 attendees. Unlike other series events in Almería, Morocco, Mexico and Chilean Patagonia, this edition will feature an all-mountain parcours: a prologue followed by two demanding stages, each with more than 2,000 metres of positive elevation gain—up to 2,500 metres in some cases. Billed as the circuit's toughest challenge, the route exploits Andorra's Pyrenean terrain while emphasising rider welfare. It will incorporate both traditional and e-bike categories, supported by local facilities such as Grandvalira Resorts' charging stations.

Titan World Series general director Jon Iriondo described it as a "country project," filling a gap for a pure mountain bike event. He noted that Andorra is the ideal venue, with full route details still pending. The series originated 20 years ago with the 2006 Titan Desert in Morocco, now in its 21st edition, and captures a Dakar Rally-like adventure ethos that unites amateurs and professionals such as Peter Sagan and Miguel Indurain, prioritising shared experience over competition.

Former footballer Joan Verdú, the event's ambassador, has tested parts of the course and plans to participate. It will broadcast on DAZN, attracting celebrities and athletes for wider appeal.

Encamp minor consul Xavier Fernández praised the race as a unique complement to existing sports and family tourism, leveraging the parish's natural assets to extend the season beyond skiing. He highlighted integration with Encamp's village centre.

Grandvalira commercial director Jordi Galceran welcomed the e-bike focus, which builds on 111km of cycling infrastructure to elevate Andorra's profile. RPM Sports CEO Santi Nolla called the Principality "one of Europe's cycling paradises," with 21 mountain passes, over 600km of MTB trails and more than 120 resident pro cyclists, vowing to establish it as an annual fixture. Clayton co-founder Higini Cierco saw it as a platform for year-round premium tourism promotion.

Veteran competitor Ramon Aranda, with 21 participations, attended the launch with a video featuring Verdú and Carlos Galán. Iriondo concluded: "We only go to iconic places."
