A football match in Andorra's second division descended into chaos on Sunday, with eight players ejected following an on-pitch brawl and a changing-room altercation that prompted police mediation.

FS La Massana beat Atlètic Amèrica 2-1 in the fourth round of the Lliga Grup Pirineu at the Andorran Football Federation's Borda Mateu training centre. Derrick Pachou and Nicolas Pauls scored for the winners, but the final whistle triggered unrest. DAZN footage, viewable on FIFA+, captured an Atlètic Amèrica forward's late challenge on the La Massana goalkeeper, which ignited a melee.

Referee Diego Fleita handed out four red cards per team: Diego Fleita, Carlos David Vasquez, Aldo Rubén González and Manuel Mena from Atlètic Amèrica; Diego Rafael Marinho, Raúl José Magalhaes, Derrick Pachou and Alejandro Caso from FS La Massana. The incident has been flagged for the FAF Discipline Committee.

Away from the cameras, the dispute continued near the changing rooms. Atlètic Amèrica accused La Massana players of ambushing their locker area with insults, leading to a scuffle in which Aldo Rubén González suffered a facial injury. The club released a photo of the wound, demanded an FAF probe and sanctions, and emphasised that the sport demands passion with respect, not violence.

La Massana rejected the claims, stating Atlètic Amèrica players obstructed their changing room—positioned first in the zone—and that one hurled a boot at a teammate's face, sparking punches until security stepped in. They cited match footage for the original provocation and noted FAF cameras at the site for further evidence.

Security summoned police, who mediated after tensions eased. No arrests occurred. Officers confirmed the referee documented the pitch incident in the match acta. One player has signalled intent to lodge a formal complaint but has yet to act.

The FAF Discipline Committee will review footage, reports and statements to decide on potential fines or other penalties for both clubs.
