The Andorran Council of Ministers has approved an advance payment of €2,213,271.66—equivalent to 58% of the 2026 sports subsidies—to support federations and clubs with early-year liquidity needs before the full application process concludes in May.
Government spokesperson Guillem Casal stated at the post-Council press briefing that the measure ensures federations can manage initial costs such as athlete travel, competitions, equipment, and training without financial strain at the year's start. The amount reflects 70/100ths of each recipient's 2023 allocation, with the remainder to follow after the main call—set to open this first quarter—resolves against a total €4.5 million budget.
Top recipients are the Andorran Ski Federation (FAE) at €670,833.33, Andorran Mountaineering Federation (FAM) at €155,750, VPC Andorra (or Andorran Functional Fitness) at €140,583.33, Andorra Basketball Club at €105,000, Andorran Athletics Federation (FAA) at €83,300, Andorran Swimming Federation (FAN) at €89,833.33, Andorran Rugby Federation (FAR) at €88,666.67, Andorran Judo and Jujitsu Federation at €78,166.67, Andorran Cycling Federation at €67,550, and Andorran Motorcycling Federation (FMA) at €50,458.33.
The initiative, led by Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Mònica Bonell alongside Youth and Sports Secretary of State Alain Cabanes, continues a legislative-term pledge to improve sports organizations' financial and operational planning.
In parallel, the Council has launched the 2026 cultural subsidies call with €250,000 available, unchanged from last year's level following a €50,000 increase. The funds back projects in eight areas: literary activities and creation; performing arts; plastic and visual arts; popular and traditional culture; cultural outreach by private media; editorial projects; overseas promotion of visual and performing arts; and translations of Andorran literature.
