Andorra National Team Schedules March Friendlies, Drawn in UEFA Nations League D

Andorra's men's national football team has confirmed two friendlies during the March international window: against Montenegro on Friday, March 27 at 6pm local time in Podgorica's Gradski Stadion, and against San Marino on March 31. The fixtures prepare Koldo Álvarez de Eulate's squad for summer World Cup qualifiers and the UEFA Nations League.

In Thursday's UEFA Nations League draw in Brussels—conducted by former Belgian player Mbo Mpenza—Andorra was placed in League D, Group D1 as the only confirmed team. The group will include the losers of March play-offs from the previous edition's Groups C and D: Luxembourg versus Malta, and Gibraltar versus Latvia. Fixtures are scheduled for the September, October, and November windows, from September 24 to November 17.

Andorra, which finished bottom of its prior group with Malta and Moldova, entered the draw from the second pot alongside Liechtenstein. It avoided the other League D group, featuring Azerbaijan, Lithuania, and Liechtenstein.

Álvarez de Eulate reacted to the incomplete draw by saying it caught the team off guard. "Coming to a draw and leaving without really knowing who we play against feels a bit strange and different," he noted. He added that the squad must prepare for any of the four possible opponents, each with distinct styles, and emphasized readiness as in the upcoming March and June windows. Andorra's football federation sent a delegation led by Fèlix Álvarez to the event, which coincided with UEFA's annual congress.

Two additional friendlies are planned for June.
