The Andorran government has acknowledged concerns raised by La Massana parish council over the recent poor performance of Pal Arinsal ski resort, while pledging continued institutional support for the country's snow sector.

Government spokesperson Guillem Casal addressed the issue during a press conference following the Council of Ministers meeting. He noted that similar worries have emerged from Canillo parish council. "The government understands the concern," Casal said, emphasising that the snow industry remains a key economic driver for Andorra and must continue as such.

Casal highlighted Pal Arinsal's strategic importance to La Massana, both for its economic impact and its role in national tourism. The executive, he added, is committed to standing by the sector—both now and in the future—to bolster its position within the country's economy. The government intends to support the development of ski resorts across the territory, given their overall significance.

Recent steady snowfall has brought relief to ski operations. The past few days have delivered 25 to 40 centimetres of fresh snow, with accumulations nearing half a metre in the best-affected areas—exceeding initial forecasts. This will allow operators to expand the skiable terrain in coming days.

Grandvalira, Andorra's largest ski domain, now plans to open more than 190 kilometres of pistes, with full connections across all sectors. Snow depths there currently range from 40 to 70 centimetres.
