The Government has transferred €312,743.80 to the Foundation of the Games of the Small States of Europe — Andorra 2025 to cover supplementary costs and allow an orderly, transparent close of the foundation’s accounts, which are due to be approved at a December meeting.

About €240,000 of the sum was allocated to the live audiovisual production and international transmission of the opening and closing ceremonies and the sporting competitions. The production contract with Quality accounted for €140,039.42 of that package and included staff travel, accommodation and subsistence. The Games were streamed on seven simultaneous channels using some 40 cameras and international links, enabling for the first time in the event’s history that all competitions were broadcast.

The remainder of the transfer funded upgrades to venues used in June, including construction of spectator stands at the Centre de Tecnificació d’Ordino for rugby and other facility improvements the Government describes as a legacy for the country.

This payment is additional to roughly €1.8 million the Government had already allocated to stage the Games. Minister of Sports Mònica Bonell said the full scope and costs of retransmission were not known when the initial provision was made and that the supplementary payment was authorised once budget execution allowed.

The Government has said post-event budget adjustments of this nature should be assumed by the State because of the event’s institutional scope, as occurred when Andorra hosted the Games in 2005. With this transfer, the executive’s declared outlays for the Games align with figures previously detailed by the ministry — a total the Government has put at €4,531,116.03 — and the administration has underlined the local economic impact, noting that many suppliers were domestic and venue upgrades will continue to benefit clubs, national teams and future events.

The transfer also facilitates the formal winding up of the foundation. Bonell reiterated that once the accounts are closed and approved the foundation will be liquidated, since its existence was limited to organising the Games.
