Andorran cross-country skier Gina del Rio will compete in the final three World Cup races of the season this weekend at Lake Placid in the United States.
The Fédération Andorrane d'Esports d'Hivern (FAE) cross-country team travelled to the US venue last Sunday to take part in the event, with del Rio starting in all three competitions.
The schedule begins on Friday at 18:00 with the 10km individual classic race. Saturday features the freestyle sprint, with qualifying rounds at 15:30 and finals at 18:00. The weekend closes on Sunday with the 20km mass start freestyle race, starting at 19:30.
Del Rio's coach, Xabier del Val, said she is in good shape following a solid intensity training session on Wednesday. He added that the goals for the three races are to perform as well as possible, build on the momentum from Lahti, and see what results follow.
