Andorran skier Íria Medina failed to complete the first giant slalom run of the Europa Cup double event at Oberjoch, Germany, on Sunday after falling midway through.
Medina, who was competing strongly, touched a gate during her descent and crashed to the ground. National team technician Ibon Mintegui noted that she had been "doing good skiing" up to that point.
The 26-year-old had entered the weekend in excellent form following two second-place finishes in FIS giant slaloms at Hinterreit, where she matched her personal best points score. Earlier this season, she had raced in Europa Cup giant slaloms at Zinal, Mayrhofen, and Sestriere, as well as slaloms in Mayrhofen and Ahrntal.
Meanwhile, the latest FIS giant slalom at Font Romeu saw the national team and under-19 EEBE squad in action, with Álvar Calvo finishing 17th and Álex Rius 18th.
