Andorran para-alpine skier Roger Puig ended the World Cup's opening block with a ninth-place finish in Sunday's slalom in St Moritz, Switzerland, his latest top-10 result of the season.

Puig posted the 10th-fastest time in the first run, staying competitive near the front of the field. He improved in the second run to gain one position overall, finishing ninth with a time of 1:43.21, 9.52 seconds behind winner Arthur Bauchet. The result earned him 29 points in the overall standings and improved his FIS points, underlining his growing reliability in technical disciplines.

Earlier on Friday, Puig took 15th in the giant slalom, starting with bib 24 in tough conditions. He recorded the 16th-best first-run time before advancing one spot with a consistent second run, adding 16 points to both the general classification and giant slalom rankings. That marked his second top-15 finish in the discipline at St Moritz, hitting his pre-event target.

Puig now sits sixth in the overall standings with 240 points. In the discipline-specific rankings, he ranks fifth in downhill, seventh in supercombined, eighth in super-G, ninth in slalom, and 14th in giant slalom.

The St Moritz events closed out the season's first phase. The circuit resumes 11-17 January in Saalbach, Austria, with two downhills and two super-Gs. Puig's performances have exceeded early targets and delivered positive momentum.
