Andorran skiers Pere Cornella and Carlota Comellas took third place in FIS slalom races on Saturday at the Baqueira-Beret ski resort in Catalonia.

The event featured members of Spain's national men's team as well as the men's and women's EEBE U19 squads. In the men's race, Cornella finished behind winner Álvaro del Pino and runner-up Jonas Sánchez. Fellow Andorrans followed with Salvador Cornella in ninth, Max Black 11th, Marc Fernández 15th, Marcel Pérez 16th, Èric Guimerà 18th, Carlos Salinas 19th, Marc Delgado 25th, Èric Mitjana 26th, Antoni Bea 27th, and Àlex Comellas 28th. Jordi Rogel did not advance beyond the first run.

Comellas claimed bronze in the women's event, placing third behind Spain's June Garitano and Martina Terren. She recorded 76.28 FIS points, her third-best result this season but short of her personal best of 71.08. Marta Torres ended 16th, while Isabella Pérez and Ainhoa Piccino failed to complete the opening run.

A FIS giant slalom is set for Sunday at Baqueira. Meanwhile, Andorran Àlvar Calvo will race slalom that day at the Junior World Championships in Narvik, Norway. Andorra's only entrant there, Calvo did not finish Friday's giant slalom but has this final chance to end the event on a high note.
