MoraBanc Andorra have parted ways with captain Ferran Bassas following his release request and confirmed the signing of Bulgarian forward Kostas Kostadinov to a contract running until June 30, 2028.

The club made both announcements on December 14, 2025, after Bassas, a 33-year-old Barcelona native, saw his role shrink under coach Joan Plaza. The point guard, who arrived from Dreamland Gran Canaria in summer 2024 on a two-year deal, averaged 14.7 minutes, 5.4 points, and 5.8 efficiency across 26 ACB games last season. This term, he appeared in seven of ten matches for 7:14 per game, 1.7 points, 1.1 assists, and 2.4 efficiency, with his final outing in Saturday's win over Covirán Granada yielding six minutes. MoraBanc thanked Bassas for his professionalism and commitment as the squad's first captain after Nacho Llovet's exit, wishing him success ahead.

BAXI Manresa quickly announced Bassas's arrival until season's end, pairing him with Eli Brooks to address injuries to Dani Pérez and Hugo Benítez, both out for four to five weeks.

Kostadinov, a 22-year-old, 2.03m athletic power forward/center with homegrown status from Real Madrid's youth system—where he claimed 2017 Minicopa MVP honours and an Adidas Next Generation title—joins as a free agent from La Laguna Tenerife. Limited behind Giorgi Shermadini, Fran Guerra, Aaron Doornekamp, and Tim Abromaitis, he played four ACB games this season (3:45 average, 1.8 points, 1.3 efficiency) and 19 last year (6:30 average, 2.1 points). Prior loans took him to Palencia (LEB Oro promotion winners) and Lucentum Alicante after starting at Dolphin Burgas.

Sporting director Francesc Solana described the move as "an important signing" for a player long on the club's radar, noting his ACB experience, youth, ambition, physicality, rebounding prowess, and long-term potential.

Further roster tweaks appear likely. Justin McKoy, a summer addition averaging 16:19, 5.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.3 efficiency in ten games, could exit soon—his Granada appearance may have been his last—while Aaron Best, who replaced Jerrick Harding, lingers despite modest output. Officials have signalled no immediate further additions, though exterior reinforcements like Dae Dae Grant remain in discussion to fill a 12-man rotation.

Despite the Granada victory placing Andorra three wins clear of relegation, Plaza lambasted the team's errors, urging accountability and growth ahead of Sunday's clash with Casademont Zaragoza.
