Andorra approves €221,234 subsidy to Olympic Committee for 2025

The Secretary of State for Youth and Sports approved and released a €221,234.52 subsidy to the Andorran Olympic Committee (COA) in December for the 2025 fiscal year to finance the accompaniment and representation of Andorran athletes at international competitions.

The payment followed submission and validation of the COA’s required financial documentation and justification of expeditions to events such as the Games of the Small States and the European Youth Olympic Festival, as well as other competitions organised by the International Olympic Committee. The government had presented other grants to federations and historic clubs in May but delayed the COA’s allocation pending confirmation of the nation’s participation in those competitions.

With this allocation, total public funding earmarked to support sport in Andorra for 2025 rises to €4,451,583.59, exceeding the €4,276,790 total for 2024. The COA’s 2025 subsidy is larger than last year’s €71,784 but remains below the €284,500 it received in 2023.

The government said the investment reaffirms its commitment to national sport and to the entities and clubs that train young athletes toward elite competition. The Ministry of Culture and Sports has also warned that subsidies will not increase next year and that the overall sports funding envelope will remain at the current budget level.
