Inter Escaldes and UE Santa Coloma Extend Lead in Primera Divisió with Comeback Wins

Inter Escaldes and UE Santa Coloma maintained their dominance in the Primera Divisió title race with come-from-behind wins on Sunday, extending their lead at the top.

Inter Escaldes, coached by Felip Ortiz, trailed Penya Encarnada until the closing stages before securing a 2-1 home victory. Juan Miguel Basulto put the visitors ahead in the 62nd minute, but David López equalised in the 80th and Faysal Chouaib netted the winner in the 88th. Penya Encarnada coach Javi García was sent off late on. The leaders sit on 44 points from one match fewer than their closest challengers.

UE Santa Coloma sit second with 41 points after overturning a 1-0 deficit at Ranger's FC. Borja Morales scored for the hosts in the 20th minute, but Pablo Margallo levelled in the 62nd and Alex Martínez grabbed the decisive goal in the 92nd minute. Ranger's FC player Jesús de Lucio received a red card.

FC Santa Coloma moved into third on 34 points with a controlled 2-0 win at Carroi. Guillaume López headed them in front in the 49th minute from a corner, and Juan Camilo Becerra converted a rebound from Pacho late in the game. The result pushes them ahead of Ordino, who had a bye and remain on 33 points in the race for European qualification.

Atletic Club Escaldes, under Dani Luque, edged CF Esperança 2-1 at Borda Mateu on Saturday. Pablo Brian Brito opened the scoring in the 11th minute, Diego Alejandro Nájera equalised for the visitors in the 73rd, and David Valero struck the winner amid a frantic finish with multiple yellow cards. Esperança languish at the bottom of the table.
