The MoraBanc Andorra basketball team has continued its 13-year Christmas tradition by visiting the Fundació Privada Nostra Senyora de Meritxell (FPNSM) this Wednesday afternoon. Players, coaching staff, club president Gorka Aixàs, and sports director Francesc Solana delivered a specially adapted boccia kit to support the centre's users.

The gift includes lighter-than-standard balls, a target, and a ramp designed for those using wheelchairs or regular chairs. Boccia, a precision game akin to pétanque, aids individuals with limited strength or grip, promoting coordination, concentration, attention, precision, strength, and social interaction through therapeutic exercise.

Rosa Manyoses, head of FPNSM's daytime care services, welcomed the group alongside general director Celine Mandicó and Anna Jiménez, director of adult and ageing care. She noted that the equipment helps users build focus, movement skills, and engagement in sports, boosting daily motivation. The centre employs a physical education specialist and runs sessions several times weekly to enhance physical health and wellbeing.

The visit featured joint activities in the outdoor courtyard, where participants tried the new boccia set alongside basketball drills. Users from the Xeridell occupational service joined in, followed by a shared snack that strengthened community ties.

Natàlia De Felipe, the club's corporate social responsibility lead, described the event as particularly meaningful amid the holiday schedule. She highlighted the ongoing partnership since 2011, even as the roster changes yearly, and emphasised introducing players' personal sides beyond their professional roles to foster greater human connections. Many users follow the team's matches throughout the season, making the players' presence a source of joy.
