Andorra will host the inaugural FIS Freeride World Championships by Mammut at Ordino Arcalís, with competition to be held inside a weather window from 1 to 6 February 2026. Mammut is the event’s title partner.

This is the first world championship organised specifically for freeride by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) and will crown the discipline’s first official FIS world champions. The title decisions will be made over a single day of competition chosen within the February window.

Sixty-six athletes from 17 countries are entered across four categories: men's ski, women's ski, men's snowboard and women's snowboard. Unlike the season‑long Freeride World Tour, where overall winners are determined across multiple stops, this championship will award world titles based on one contest day.

Local rider Joan Aracil will represent Andorra in the men's ski category. Aracil, who grew up training on the nearby slopes and has experience on the Freeride World Tour, is among the home favourites.

Situated in the north of the country, Ordino Arcalís is regarded as the freeride mecca of the Pyrenees. Known for its technical terrain and reliable snow, the resort has hosted international freeride competitions since 2015 and has been a regular Freeride World Tour venue for nearly a decade.
