MoraBanc Andorra Lose 91-84 to Baxi Manresa, Extend Winless Streak to Seven

MoraBanc Andorra extended their winless streak to seven Liga ACB games with a 91-84 loss to Baxi Manresa at Nou Congost on Sunday at midday, closing the first half of the schedule.

Despite an early lead after the first quarter (19-22), driven by triples from Kuric and strong play from Pustovyi and Udeze, Manresa responded forcefully. Steinbergs hit three straight threes to open the second quarter, part of eight local threes in the first half, capped by a 9-0 run for a 52-41 halftime edge. Andorra mounted a comeback in the second half, with Okoye scoring 10 points including a 2+1, Pustovyi adding crucial baskets like a 2+1 to close to 76-73 late, and Kuric draining key threes. But clutch misses undermined the rally: Kuric and Evans botched threes, Evans and Udeze missed free throws, and turnovers let Manresa seal it.

Obasohan topped Manresa with 22 points, followed by Reyes (16), Steinbergs (15), Brooks (11), and Oriola (9). For Andorra, Pustovyi led with 18, Kuric had 16, Evans and Udeze 12 each, Okoye 10, and Pons 5 in his return from injury. Best added 4, McKoy 4, and Luz 2; Ganal was the odd man out from the 13-man roster, with Castañeda sidelined.

The defeat leaves Andorra one win above relegation, buoyed by Burgos's loss elsewhere. Pre-game, coach Joan Plaza rejected any ultimatum talk, saying he sensed no club unrest. "I haven't perceived anything like that," he noted, adding he takes responsibility only for what he says and hears, with nothing reaching him. He praised his professionalism and focused on the matchup.

Plaza pointed to fine margins costing recent games, urging tighter unity and communication to secure two or three wins and escape the bottom—not Copa del Rey contention, but safety. He flagged Manresa's intensity, verticality, and quick attacks under eight seconds that punish turnovers, an area Andorra had to contain. Manresa, one spot above with two more wins, came off a 130-85 loss in Vitoria and a 97-96 EuroCup win over Neptunas Klaipeda, missing Ubal, Pérez, and Benítez, with Brooks and Reyes as doubts who both starred.

Over 50 Andorra fans offered support. Plaza defended Aaron Best and Justin McKoy, insisting they deserve minutes while on the roster.
