Real Zaragoza Apologizes for 50 Fans Denied Entry to Andorra Match
Club regrets ticket cancellations due to reselling suspicions, offers free tickets to future games; FC Andorra defender Marsà draws AC Milan interest.
Key Points
- Zaragoza fans denied entry after FC Andorra cancelled 50 extra tickets pre-kickoff over reselling fears.
- Zaragoza to compensate fans with free tickets to one of next six home/away matches.
- FC Andorra justified action under LaLiga right-of-admission rules.
- 19yo ex-Andorra CB José Marsà, now at KV Mechelen, eyed by AC Milan after strong season.
Real Zaragoza has expressed regret over the denial of entry to around 50 of its fans at Sunday's match against FC Andorra, held at the Nou Estadi de la FAF in Encamp.
The supporters had purchased tickets outside the 140 allocated by FC Andorra to the Spanish club. Just before kickoff, those tickets were cancelled, preventing access to the stadium. Zaragoza stated it learned of the issue moments before the game and immediately sought ways to allow the fans inside.
FC Andorra explained the annulment as a response to suspected ticket reselling, invoking its right of admission—a measure fully permitted under LaLiga rules.
In response, Zaragoza will compensate the affected fans with complimentary tickets to one of its next six matches, either at home against Burgos, Almeria or Racing Club Santander, or away to Cadiz, Deportivo de la Coruna or Leganes.
Separately, José Marsà, a former FC Andorra centre-back from Esplugues de Llobregat and a product of Barcelona's youth system, has attracted interest from AC Milan.
Marsà featured in 32 games for FC Andorra last season—22 as a starter—before replacing Mika Mármol, who moved to UD Las Palmas. He now plays for Belgian top-flight side KV Mechelen, which paid around €160,000 for him. This season in the Jupiler Pro League, the 19-year-old has made 19 appearances, logging 1,492 minutes with one goal and three assists.
