The Lliga Multisegur Assegurances is navigating an unusually turbulent season, with off-field financial problems spreading to FC Ordino. The club has not paid November salaries to players and coaching staff, and about six players are also still owed October wages.
Ordino acknowledged the delays to Diari d’Andorra, saying players have been kept informed and that the issue is a temporary postponement rather than a default. The club attributed the hold-ups to late transfers of expected funds from UEFA, the Andorran Football Federation and the Ordino parish council, and said the budget is closed and the financial situation calm.
Club officials also underlined sporting frustration: after making a substantial investment to compete near the top of the table, Ordino sit seventh. The club dismissed coach Àlex Serrano for poor results and said sporting director Antonio Rueda will assume interim first-team responsibilities.
Other teams in the league have faced similar problems. Carroi experienced a brief payroll delay, which the club described as resolved and said relations with players remain good. Ranger’s continues to carry unresolved debts: the club previously fell behind by up to three months, prompting players to refuse training and stage an on-field protest by remaining still for the first minute of a match. Rangers have started partial repayments but players have not yet received the full amounts owed.
Pas de la Casa was excluded from the competition for failing to register the minimum number of players. The season itself began late after immigration issues delayed the start by a month.
The federation, presenting its strategic plan last week, said it wants clubs to keep professionalizing to prevent situations that harm the league’s image. Officials stressed there is still significant work to be done to stabilise the competition.
