The Andorran government's State Secretariat for Energy Transition, Transport and Mobility has paid Autocars Andorra 2011 SL, operating as Hife, a total of €13,266.35 to cover shuttle bus services between Andorra and L'Hospitalet during the closure of the French RN20 road.
The payment supports operations from 13 February to 8 March, following a landslide that blocked access to the Principality and caused economic disruption, particularly at Pas de la Casa. This forms part of urgent measures outlined in Decree 59/2026 to mitigate the road closure's financial impact, with details published in the official Bulletin (BOPA).
The free shuttle service, funded equally by the central government and Encamp parish council, linked L'Hospitalet train station to Pas de la Casa and other areas. It proved popular, with daily frequencies increased and passenger numbers rising thirteenfold to an average of over 225 users per day.
Some reports note the period as starting 14 February, but the official edict confirms coverage from 13 February. The initiative aimed to retain visitors and support cross-border workers affected by the disruption.
