Andorra Vehicle Registrations Rise 4.8% in April to 477 Units

Vehicle registrations in Andorra rose 4.8% in April to 477 units compared with the same month last year, according to data from the Statistics Department. Of these, 376 were new vehicles and 101 imported units.

By category, increases were recorded for "others" at 38.5% to 18 units, motorcycles and mopeds at 17.8% to 119 units, and passenger cars at 2.0% to 309 units. Trucks and vans declined 18.4% to 31 units, the only category with a negative result.

For the first four months of 2026, total registrations reached 1,779 vehicles, up 8.5% from 1,639 in the same period of 2025. All categories showed gains: passenger cars increased by 118 units or 10.4%, others by 15 units or 38.5%, trucks and vans by 4 units or 2.7%, and motorcycles and mopeds by 3 units or 1.0%.

Over the past 12 months, registrations totalled 5,592 vehicles, a 12.5% rise from 4,969 previously. Gains included others at 73.9%, trucks and vans at 24.3%, passenger cars at 12.6%, and motorcycles and mopeds at 1.2%.

By fuel type in April, petrol registrations grew 10.7% while diesel fell 19.3%. Fully electric vehicles numbered 19, down two from last year. Hybrids totalled 118, up 16 units. Fuel-free vehicles reached 14, one fewer than April 2025.

Year-to-date, fully electric registrations dropped 10.0% or 19 units. Non-plug-in diesel hybrids rose 26.2% or 62 units. Over 12 months, non-plug-in petrol hybrids increased by 269 units or 3.0%, with totals of 2,801 petrol, 337 plug-in petrol hybrids, 185 non-plug-in diesel hybrids, and 256 fully electrics.

Adjusted for calendar effects, overall registrations trended up 1.7% over the last three months. Passenger cars showed a slight 0.1% decline in April after stability, motorcycles and mopeds a 0.6% gain amid a mild downward trend, trucks and vans a negative 1.6% over three months despite an upward shift, and others up 3.0% in April.
