Agents from the Mossos d’Esquadra’s Regional Traffic Area for Alt Pirineu and Aran have filed criminal charges against a 24-year-old motorcyclist with an Andorran-plated vehicle. The man faces accusations of a traffic safety offence after being caught speeding excessively.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning during a speed check on the C-14 road in the municipality of Ribera d’Urgellet, Alt Urgell. At 10:57am, officers recorded the motorcycle travelling at 202 km/h in a section limited to 90 km/h.
Authorities have immobilised the motorcycle as a precautionary measure. The driver must appear before the duty investigating judge at the Seu d’Urgell court when summoned by judicial authorities, according to a Mossos statement.
The speed exceeded the threshold where an infringement becomes a criminal matter rather than an administrative one.
