A lorry overturned on the Aldosa road in La Massana parish on Monday afternoon, prompting an emergency response after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
Emergency services were alerted around 5pm when the driver, who was the sole occupant, called for assistance. The lorry veered off the road past the Aldosa urban area in the direction of Anyós, broke through a protective barrier and fell down an embankment of about 20 metres, coming to rest upside down in a nearby field.
Police, firefighters, traffic agents and medical teams, including an ambulance from the SUM service and a fire department excavator truck, attended the scene on the Camí de les Gravades stretch. The driver suffered injuries and an anxiety attack but was able to exit the vehicle on his own. He was transferred to Andorra's hospital with what rescuers described as a likely minor prognosis.
Authorities closed the road temporarily to secure the area and allow intervention work, though traffic was not fully interrupted according to some reports. Witnesses mentioned possible injuries, but officials have only confirmed the driver's condition. The exact causes remain under investigation, with no further details released.
The vehicle and road damage will not be cleared until at least Tuesday.
