Andorra's Mobility department has warned of traffic restrictions affecting cross-border travel to and from the Principality via France on July 6 and 7, due to the Tour de France's third and fourth stages in southern France and nearby areas.
Although the race will not enter Andorra this year, French authorities expect full closures and other limitations on key routes used by Andorran commuters. On Monday, July 6, the RN20 will be completely closed between kilometre 31+520 at the Spanish border and kilometre 29+650 at the junction with the RD618. Heavy vehicles over 19 tonnes will also be banned between kilometres 14 and 31+520. This stems from stage three, running from Granollers to Les Angles.
The following day, Tuesday, July 7, the RN20 should remain open, but stage four from Carcassonne to Foix will impact various secondary roads around Foix, potentially causing delays or closures.
Officials recommend planning trips in advance, allowing extra travel time, and checking French official channels for live updates. The alert follows an official statement from Mobility Andorra on June 26.
