Two Separate Crashes on Andorra's CG-3 Cause Oil Spill and Fixtures Damage

A rear-end collision between a van and a car, both with Andorran plates, took place this morning on Avinguda Sant Antoni—the CG-3—in La Massana parish, right in front of Hotel Marco Polo.

The crash resulted in one vehicle leaking oil onto the roadway, forcing drivers—especially motorcyclists—to exercise extra care amid the slick conditions. Firefighters dispatched a two-person team that applied a specialist absorbent to the spill, removing the hazard and restoring safe passage. Parish traffic services also responded, briefly redirecting vehicles to manage the scene, though flow was not significantly disrupted.

The incident caused only material damage, with no injuries reported and no need for police involvement. Public notifications highlighted the oil patch's risks to two-wheeled vehicles, but authorities confirmed circulation is now fully fluid following the cleanup.

In a separate event today, a van veered off the CG-3 in Ordino parish, near Hotel Gaspa and just before the turnoff to Carrer de l'Aldosa in La Massana. The vehicle struck a streetlight and a tree beyond a construction zone, damaging both the van and urban fixtures. Traffic services handled diversions and traffic control while firefighters carried out cleanup duties. The van was towed from the site, with the mishap limited to property damage and no broader circulation impacts noted.
