New Free Tourist Bus Launches in Andorra's Canillo Parish

A new daily bus service connects key Canillo attractions from Soldeu to Santuari de Meritxell. Free in early July, it costs €1 per day afterward for unlimited travel, promoting greener options in high-tourism areas.

Key Points

  • Daily nonstop route from Soldeu to Santuari de Meritxell with stops at Pont Tibetà, Sant Joan de Caselles, Ransol, El Tarter, and Vall d’Incles.
  • Operates 9:30am-5:30pm through August 31; free until July 15, then €1/day unlimited rides.
  • Children under 3 ride free; tickets via tourism packages, onboard card, or hotel vouchers.
  • Aims to boost tourism and sustainable mobility over private cars.

The Palau de Gel d’Andorra and the Comú de Canillo will launch a new tourist bus service on Wednesday, July 1, connecting major attractions in the Canillo parish through August 31.

The nonstop route runs daily from 9:30am to 5:30pm between Soldeu and the Santuari de Meritxell, with intermediate stops at the Pont Tibetà bus station, Sant Joan de Caselles, Ransol, El Tarter, and Vall d’Incles. Organizers aim to simplify travel in high-tourism zones and promote public transport as an alternative to private cars.

The service will be free during the first half of July. Starting July 16, fares will be €1 per person per day, allowing unlimited boarding and alighting. Children up to three years old ride free if they do not occupy a seat.

Tickets are included in the Descobreix Valls de Canillo tourism packages, available on the Pont Tibetà de Canillo website. They can also be purchased onboard using card payments only. Hotels can buy voucher booklets to offer guests, with tickets marked by validity date and the establishment’s stamp.

The project is designed to enhance tourism across the parish while supporting more sustainable mobility for local activities.
