Representatives from Andorra's State Secretariat for Energy Transition, Transport and Mobility, led by State Secretary David Forné, met with Air Nostrum executives on Tuesday for a routine review of regular flights to Andorra–La Seu Airport.
The discussions covered operations at the airport, an assessment of current air services, and Andorra's future connectivity needs. Officials reviewed the performance of existing routes and urged the airline, whenever feasible, to prioritise morning flights to enhance service reliability.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining air links with Air Nostrum through the duration of the current contract. One focus was addressing flight diversions that occurred in May, examining their causes and potential remedies.
The secretariat also updated Air Nostrum on ongoing work toward a new national air connectivity strategy. This plan leverages planned investments at Andorra–La Seu Airport and aims to bolster its growth. Officials recently indicated studies into a possible Paris route as part of broader efforts.
Government sources emphasised continued efforts to ensure "stable, efficient air connectivity tailored to Andorra's needs", with the strategy expected to be unveiled soon.
