Andorra la Vella council has introduced ten new free parking spaces in a row along Avinguda d’Enclar, opposite number 144 in Santa Coloma, to meet local parking demands.
The spots allow up to three consecutive hours of free parking each day from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday, with traffic agents enforcing the limit. Parking remains unrestricted overnight, from 8pm to 8am the next day.
The initiative reorganizes the public area to integrate the spaces with pedestrian routes and leisure zones. Crews relocated existing posts, strengthened safeguards around street furniture and the playground, and enhanced pedestrian paths with horizontal signage at crossings and boundary posts for added safety, particularly near the children’s play area entrance.
Councillor for Traffic and Parking Xavier Surana said the adjustments respond to residents’ requests. He noted that they boost parking options in the Enclar area, promote vehicle rotation to aid nearby shops and businesses, and improve safety and usability for walkers and recreation spaces.
