La Massana parish council has begun renovation works on Camí de l’Església in the historic core, allocating 888,409.27 euros to enhance accessibility and provide safer, more comfortable paths to the schools and nursery.
The project involves laying new cobblestone paving, along with upgrades to lighting and the water network. A new elevator will link Carrer Josep Rossell to Parc de l’Anita, directly in front of the nursery, to assist people with reduced mobility and those with young children.
Works councillor Kevin Poulet explained that the council aims to make the parish’s old village centres more appealing and easier to navigate. Interventions will proceed gradually, applying consistent standards for materials like weather-resistant stone, while respecting each village’s unique traits.
The 16-week effort forms part of broader council plans to revitalise La Massana’s historic areas, improve public spaces and services, and boost access. Officials expect some disruptions and are committed to minimising them.
