Andorra Relaunches Tender for Bus Network Study After Incomplete Bid

The Andorran government has relaunched a tender for a strategic study on restructuring the public bus network and its future infrastructure, after the initial process was declared void due to an incomplete bid from the sole applicant.

Only one company responded to the contract, first published in June, but it failed to submit all required documentation, government sources told El Periòdic. This prompted an edict in Wednesday's Butlletí Oficial del Principat d'Andorra (BOPA) declaring the tender desert, followed by a second edict launching a new call with the same terms and criteria.

The executive hopes the previous bidder will address its documentation shortcomings and resubmit a compliant offer, while encouraging fresh proposals. Officials emphasized the evaluation's importance for national mobility, aiming to award the contract swiftly.

The study will assess improvements to bus operations and ensure compatibility with the planned tramway. It includes analysis of service restructuring, dedicated corridors, stop placements, and space reservations for the segregated tram route, supporting broader public transport modernization. No adjudication timeline has been specified.
