Encamp Starts Pedestrian Improvements on Avinguda de Príncep Benlloch

Works enhance mobility with sidewalk expansions, resurfacing, and safer crossings. Completion by October 30, with brief Friday disruptions to traffic and buses.

Key Points

  • Resurfacing roundabout at Carrer de Vila access and expanding sidewalks to Passeig de l'Alguer.
  • New sidewalk between numbers 24-26; raised crossings near Parc de l'Ossa for safety.
  • Carrer de Vila closes to vehicles Friday 9:15am-4pm.
  • Bus lines L2 and L4 rerouted 11am-3pm downhill; temporary stops on Carrer de Vila and Ràdio Andorra.

Encamp has begun improvement works on Avinguda de Príncep Benlloch aimed at enhancing pedestrian mobility, with completion expected by 30 October.

The Comú d'Encamp started with resurfacing the roundabout providing access to the village and Carrer de Vila, located in front of Parc de l'Ossa. The project will then focus on expanding existing sidewalks and building a new one between numbers 24 and 26 along the avenue. Work covers the stretch from the Carrer de Vila access roundabout to the intersection with Passeig de l'Alguer.

Additional measures include renewing the roundabout's asphalt and relocating two pedestrian crossings near Parc de l'Ossa. Both will be raised to bolster safety and traffic flow in the area.

Motorists and public transport users face short-term disruptions. On Friday, Carrer de Vila will close to vehicles from the Hort de Godí access roundabout to the Encamp village access roundabout, between 9:15am and 4pm.

National bus lines L2 (Encamp) and L4 (El Pas de la Casa) will also see changes from 11am to 3pm in the downhill direction toward Escaldes-Engordany. Stops at La Molina/Parc de l'Ossa, Riu Blanc, and Prada de Moles will be suspended. Temporary alternatives include a stop on Carrer de Vila just past the roundabout and the Ràdio Andorra stop.

Beyond this specific closure, vehicle and pedestrian traffic will continue normally during the works, with parking access on the avenue unaffected.
