Andorra Summer Traffic Hits 950K Vehicles, 7.8% Below Projections

Andorra's summer traffic operation ended with 950,823 vehicle entries from July to September, falling 7.8% short of the Mobility Department's projection of roughly 1.032 million.
Most vehicles crossed the Spanish-Andorran border, totaling 633,697 entries—3.9% below the anticipated 662,000. This represented a decrease of 25,529 from the 659,226 recorded during the same period in 2025.
Entries via the French-Andorran border dropped more sharply, with 317,126 vehicles recorded, or 14.8% under the expected 370,000. The figure was 55,041 lower than the 372,167 seen in 2025.
The overall total missed projections by 81,177 vehicles and trailed last summer's 1,031,393 entries by about 80,570.
The Mobility Department managed the operation, which ran from 6 July to 13 September in partnership with local police, communal agents, and security forces from France and Spain. Enhancements included a second lane at the Spanish border, an extra northbound lane on Avinguda Francesc Cairat, and southbound inspections from the Comella roundabout to Margineda.
The final weekend proved particularly busy, coinciding with Catalonia's 11 September bridge holiday, which drew many visitors and caused significant congestion for entries and exits from Friday through Sunday.
No reasons have been given for the shortfall against forecasts.
