Andorra's summer traffic operation recorded 950,823 vehicle entries from July to September, 7.8% below the Mobility Department's forecast of around 1.032 million.
Traffic volumes mainly came through the Spanish-Andorran border, with 633,697 vehicles entering—3.9% fewer than the projected 662,000. This marked a drop of 25,529 vehicles compared to the 659,226 recorded over the same period in 2025.
The French-Andorran border showed the sharpest decline, registering 317,126 entries, or 14.8% below the expected 370,000. That figure also fell by 55,041 vehicles from the 372,167 seen in 2025.
Overall, the total came in 81,177 vehicles short of projections and about 80,570 below last summer's 1,031,393 entries.
The Mobility Department oversaw the operation from 6 July to 13 September in coordination with local police, communal agents, and security forces from neighbouring countries. Measures included a second lane at the Spanish border, an additional northbound lane on Avinguda Francesc Cairat, and southbound checks from the Comella roundabout to Margineda.
No explanations have been provided for the lower-than-expected figures.
