Andorra la Vella has launched a national tender to award a concession for operating the motorhome parking area at the municipal Canrodes car park.

The process aims to appoint a company to manage the facility, which caters to rising demand from touring tourism. Documents, including tender specifications and technical requirements, are available for free download via the Public Procurement Platform's contractor profile section. Bids must be submitted electronically through the same portal by 3pm on 20 April 2026.

Canrodes mayor Sergi González stated the tender would advance improvements and professionalise services for motorhome users, a growing tourism sector needing suitable, well-ordered spaces. He added that the concession would ensure efficient, high-quality management aligned with municipal goals for mobility and optimal use of public parking.

Spanning over 10,000 square metres along the old Camí Ral, Canrodes serves as a hub for community leisure and quality of life. Its vehicle area features 144 standard parking spaces, five for people with reduced mobility, two with electric charging points, 29 long-stay motorhome spots (already allocated), and 15 short-term rotation bays. Additional amenities include a waste disposal point for motorhomes, three segregated dog exercise areas (for dogs under 11kg, over 11kg, and potentially dangerous breeds), and an open-air public rest zone. Complementary services such as a mini-recycling centre and public toilets enhance its multi-purpose role.

Since opening in August 2025, the rotation area has seen heavy use, logging 13,613 vehicles by January 2026—13,217 cars and 396 motorhomes.
