Traffic jams exceeding two kilometres formed at the Spain-Andorra border on Sant Esteve as residents left the Principality, according to the Mobility Service.
Outflows via the Riu Runer border crossing saw heavy delays in the southbound direction on the festive day marking Saint Stephen's Day. The Mobility Service reported dense traffic on the CG-1 heading south, with queues building up from around 6.30pm along the exit stretch.
Disruptions began earlier in the day. During the morning, the CG-1 experienced flow issues near the Sant Julià de Lòria commercial centre in the northbound direction. Later, southbound queues formed at points along the CG-2, including the Encamp entrance and access to Canillo. Those incidents cleared relatively quickly.
Snow persists on the Envalira pass, where yellow-phase restrictions remain in place. Drivers must use winter tyres or suitable equipment, with a maximum speed limit of 60 km/h.
The Mobility Service continues to monitor conditions across Andorra's road network amid the holiday travel.
