Ordino Requests L7 Bus Extension to Parish Centre

Ordino parish council has formally requested the Transport Department to extend the L7 bus route to reach the parish centre, responding to growing demand from local residents.

Communal sources confirmed the petition to Altaveu, noting it stems directly from feedback by public transport users who view the change as a significant service upgrade. The L7 currently links Andorra la Vella with La Massana, and extending it to Ordino would offer parishioners more boarding options in La Massana while restoring direct access near the hospital without transfers.

The request highlights rising bus usage in Ordino, particularly from El Cortinada, amid population growth in the area. The L6 now serves El Cortinada as well, but overall ridership on key lines continues to climb.

This follows widespread discontent last summer when the government reorganised bus routes. Ordino residents, especially the elderly, protested the L6 changes, which removed its hospital stop and forced transfers in La Massana via the L7 or L5. A petition drive led to a partial fix: the L6 added a stop near the hospital, but only once hourly on select trips.

Several months on, with further adjustments to other lines, Ordino officials believe it's time to address remaining issues. They have yet to receive a government response, acknowledging that such requests do not always succeed.
