Andorra la Vella Launches Online Census Services for Residents

Andorra la Vella council has launched online services for population census management, allowing residents to handle registrations, cancellations, address changes, death notifications, and document amendments remotely at any time.

The new platform forms part of the council's wider digital transformation and administrative simplification efforts. Users can access these functions through the electronic headquarters at seu.andorralavella.ad or the procedures section of the municipal website at andorralavella.ad. In-person services continue unchanged for those who prefer them.

Handling an average of 3,300 census-related requests each year, the council expects the move to cut waiting times, streamline internal operations, and deliver round-the-clock access that matches residents' needs. It builds on previous digitization of other municipal services.

Counsellor for Procedures, Taxes and Debtors Susagna Mosquera noted the shift affects more than 3,000 annual procedures that once required visits. The goal, she said, is to remove bureaucratic obstacles, improve office support, and ensure public services adapt to citizens rather than the reverse.

Counsellor for Digital Transformation, Sustainability and Housing Marc Torrent described the step as key to building a smart administration. Digitizing a core process like the census, he added, boosts departmental performance while advancing sustainability and using technology to enhance social access.
