E.Leclerc Hiper Andorra is set to open Mercat Local, a groundbreaking retail space at Centre Comercial EO! in Andorra la Vella, that combines the charm of traditional market stalls with advanced digital features and competitive pricing.

Led by Tony Cachafeiro, the project marks an emotional transition from the historic Hiper Andorra—now E.Leclerc Hiper Andorra—to a fresh era in Andorran shopping. Company leaders highlighted the store's role as a community gathering point, offering carefully designed sections for fresh produce, meats, fish, cheese, charcuterie and more, where expert staff advice and personal service stand out. Project directors stressed that this goes beyond a standard supermarket, aiming to deliver a multisensory experience rooted in E.Leclerc's unwavering focus on safeguarding customers' purchasing power through the market's best prices.

The venue pioneers digital integration and universal accessibility, ensuring every visitor enjoys an independent, comfortable and engaging visit. Entry leads straight into a lively market area emphasising quality, savings and human connection, with options suited to all budgets and a commitment to total inclusion.

In the lead-up to launch, E.Leclerc has launched a major recruitment push. A no-appointment job fair runs Thursday, 11 June 2026, from 9am to 8pm (11 continuous hours) at Hotel Plaza's Sala Meritxell in Andorra la Vella. Applicants should bring a CV and show strong enthusiasm—no prior experience needed, as full training will be provided.

Roles available cover checkouts, cafeteria, butchery, fishmongery, cheese and cured meats, kitchen, night restocking, fresh produce and additional departments. Requirements include Andorran nationality or a valid work and residence permit, plus a positive mindset and desire to develop within the team.

Tània Soares, E.Leclerc's human resources head in Andorra, urged locals to participate, noting it offers a chance to join the family, fuel passion for service and help shape the project's legacy.
