Andorra AR+I Hosts 9 Student Trainees in Summer Research Programme

Andorra Recerca i Innovació (AR+I) is hosting nine students—recent graduates or those nearing completion of their degrees—for summer training placements as trainee researchers under the Annexa’t programme.

The participants have joined teams guided by AR+I's senior researchers, working across fields including sustainability, biological sciences, political analysis and sociology. Throughout the summer, they will support ongoing projects or emerging research areas, gaining hands-on skills and direct exposure to applied research methods.

These placements form a core part of Annexa’t, an initiative that connects young talent with innovation efforts tied to Andorra's main challenges and opportunities. The programme offers internships, mentoring, academic guidance, applied research support and fellowships to foster professional growth.

AR+I views the stays as essential for sparking scientific vocations among young people and highlighting research career paths with tangible impact. One key fellowship, developed with Andorra Telecom and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), examines the urban and socioeconomic impacts of the Node building in Andorra la Vella. The process to select the final candidate continues.
