Andorra's Businesses Rise 1.1% to 14,187 in Q2 2026

Andorra's active businesses increased by 1.1% in the second quarter of 2026, totaling 14,187 establishments in the Commerce and Industry Register as of 30 June. This represented a net addition of 159 businesses from the 14,028 recorded at the end of the first quarter.

The Statistics Department published the figures on Thursday, noting a reversal from the prior quarter's decline—the first since 2018. The growth resulted from 371 new registrations against 212 closures. Openings rose 55.9% from 238 in the previous quarter, while closures declined 18.8% from 261.

Professional, scientific, and technical activities drove the expansion with a net gain of 86 establishments, followed by information and communications at 27. Water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities recorded the only net loss, down one business.

The leading sectors by volume were professional, scientific, and technical activities (3,516 establishments), wholesale and retail trade plus vehicle and motorcycle repair (3,327), and information and communications (1,400).

Some 65.2% of businesses clustered in Andorra la Vella, Escaldes-Engordany, and La Massana parishes. Escaldes-Engordany saw the highest quarterly rise at 1.7%, with most parishes showing gains except Canillo, which fell 0.4%.

Compared to the second quarter of 2025, the total marked a 4.8% year-on-year rise, signaling a robust business environment.
