Andorra's Businesses Rise 1.1% to 14,187 in Q2 2026
Business registrations surged 55.9% while closures dropped 18.8%, reversing a prior decline and boosting the economy across most parishes.

Andorra's active businesses increased 1.1% in the second quarter of 2026, totaling 14,187 establishments in the Commerce and Industry Register as of 30 June. The Statistics Department published the figures on Thursday, reflecting a net gain of 159 from the previous quarter's 14,028.
This growth reversed the prior quarter's decline—the first since 2018—driven by 371 new registrations and 212 closures. New openings rose 55.9% from 238 in the first quarter, while closures decreased 18.8% from 261.
Professional, scientific, and technical activities saw the largest net increase of 86 businesses, followed by information and communications with 27. The only sectoral drop was one establishment in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities.
By sector size, professional, scientific, and technical activities led with 3,516 establishments, followed by wholesale and retail trade plus vehicle and motorcycle repair at 3,327, and information and communications at 1,400.
Some 65.2% of businesses concentrated in Andorra la Vella, Escaldes-Engordany, and La Massana. Escaldes-Engordany recorded the strongest parish growth at 1.6% or 1.7%, alongside gains across most areas except Canillo, which fell 0.4%.
Compared to the second quarter of 2025, the total rose 4.8%, signaling improved business conditions.
