Andorra Digital Wallet Adds Six New Credentials in Major Update

Andorra's Digital Wallet app is set to roll out a major update in the coming days, adding six new digital credentials and enhanced features to streamline personal data management.

The platform, launched by the government in October 2024, has already attracted more than 22,000 registered users in under a year. It now records around 19,000 monthly authentications, underscoring growing adoption of digital identity services.

Key additions include digital versions of place of birth, email address, and cards issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs, such as disability accreditation, large family status, and single-parent family status. The update also introduces the subscriber card for Bàsquet Club Andorra, joining existing credentials in the app.

New functionalities aim to simplify credential handling. Users can now update them with a single click—without regenerating from scratch—a feature particularly helpful for driver's licence renewals. The app has been adapted to the latest design of that document and allows temporary deletion and later recovery of credentials.

Interior Minister Marc Rossell, who oversees Public Function and Digital Transformation, said the expansion builds on the app's early success. Digital services like this have shown their value in easing daily tasks, he noted, with plans to integrate more procedures securely and accessibly via mobile.

This release aligns with the government's push to advance digital transformation, making public services more efficient and user-friendly for residents.
