The Andorran government has approved a public tender for the second phase of renovations at the police administrative building on Carrer de l’Obac in Escaldes-Engordany. The project will complete facade rehabilitation and bring the structure into line with current energy regulations for buildings under the LITECC framework.
Priority works target ongoing water infiltration through the curtain walls. Bidders must address all outstanding facades by installing higher-efficiency windows and curtain walls. These changes aim to seal leaks, minimise heat loss, enhance conditions in work areas, and lower energy use overall.
The contract duration is estimated at 31 months following adjudication.
This initiative forms part of the government's wider push to upgrade public buildings, extending their service life while meeting modern benchmarks for sustainability, energy performance, safety, and occupant wellbeing. It builds on prior efforts, such as those at the Prat de la Creu Administrative Building, where facade insulation was upgraded, joinery replaced with advanced models, and internal systems modernised to reduce consumption and improve comfort.
