Andorra Launches Tender for Police Building Facade Renovation in Escaldes-Engordany

The Andorran government has launched a public tender for the second phase of renovations at the police administrative building in Obac, Escaldes-Engordany, aiming to fully rehabilitate its facades and comply with the current LITECC energy regulations for buildings.

The works prioritise addressing frequent water leaks through the curtain walls. They include rehabilitating all remaining facades, along with replacing windows and curtain walls with higher-efficiency models. These upgrades will eliminate leaks, reduce thermal losses, improve interior workplace comfort, and cut overall energy consumption.

The contract, once awarded, is projected to last 31 months.

This project continues the government's strategy to renovate its public property portfolio, extending building lifespans while advancing energy transition and decarbonisation goals. It aligns with recent interventions at the Prat de la Creu Administrative Building, which featured enhanced thermal insulation on facades, high-performance joinery replacements, and updates to interiors and systems to lower energy use and boost user comfort.

The executive is committed to progressively modernising public infrastructure to meet contemporary standards in sustainability, energy efficiency, safety, and space quality.
