MoraBanc Hosts First Banking Hackathon with 50 Young Talents in Andorra

Around 50 young participants took part in MoraBanc's inaugural banking hackathon in Andorra la Vella, developing collaborative solutions to key business challenges.

The event formed part of the bank's longstanding Talent Experience programme, which features summer internships and serves as a tool for identifying and recruiting new professionals. Students and early-career individuals worked in multidisciplinary teams, mentored by MoraBanc staff, to address priorities such as improving client and employee onboarding, leveraging artificial intelligence for operational efficiency and productivity gains, devising strategies to attract and retain customers, and promoting financial literacy.

Participants concluded the day by pitching their ideas to the bank's Executive Committee, including Xavier Riestra, director of Andorra business; Gerard Albà, corporate director of strategy, transformation and innovation; and Wiro Martin, director of marketing and communications.

Now in its over 40-year run, the Talent Experience initiative allows Andorran youth to combine academic studies with hands-on roles aligned to their expertise, offering direct insight into financial operations. MoraBanc regards it as essential for nurturing and integrating promising talent, with several former interns advancing to permanent positions within the organisation.
