Andorra Workshop Winners Launch Satellite-Free Network, Mulepack Delivery, and Pro Childcare

Andorra's Entrepreneurs' Workshop propelled three startups by providing tools for business planning and validation. Winners hailed its role in turning ideas into viable companies amid local testing advantages.

Key Points

  • Mario Giménez wins first for resilient wireless network enabling messaging, GPS, and wildfire detection without satellites.
  • Meritxell Flores and Enzo Auladell take second with Mulepack, linking senders to travelers for efficient package delivery.
  • Júlia Lima secures third for Mon Cangur, a professional insured babysitting service with 25+ clients.
  • Winners credit workshop for business planning, market validation, and overcoming startup challenges.

Three winners of Andorra's government-run Entrepreneurs' Workshop have described how the programme equipped them with essential tools to shape their ideas into workable businesses, overcoming common startup hurdles.

Mario Giménez claimed first prize for a resilient wireless network that functions without satellites or conventional coverage. The concept arose during a major blackout in Spain, leading to a system for messaging—including voice options—ultra-precise GPS, and telemetry to detect early wildfires or enable encrypted military transmissions. Prototypes have undergone testing, and Giménez is now formalising his company with ambitions for global reach. Andorra's many uncovered zones make it a prime testing ground, he noted. Referred by his partner—a prior winner—he said the workshop established core business elements like legal requirements and planning. The top award caught him off guard, while the peer support and camaraderie stood out as key benefits.

Meritxell Flores and her son Enzo Auladell took second place with Mulepack, a platform linking package senders to regular travellers such as La Seu d'Urgell commuters, Barcelona students, or summer visitors to the Costa Brava and Costa Daurada. Stemming from delivery issues with brands like cosmetics firms, it operates initially as a citizen collaboration in validation phase, with potential rewards later to foster a reliable network. Auladell, studying digital marketing and commerce, recently added the coastal routes for scenarios like retrieving forgotten keys. Initially adrift, they credited the workshop with sharpening focus, confirming market demand, and providing validation through the prize.

Júlia Lima won third for Mon Cangur, a professional childcare service. From her nursery substitute role, she identified demand for insured, flexible babysitting beyond informal arrangements. The workshop, spotted via a youth card ad, refined her initial concept into a more professional model, clarified market realities, and underscored the value of expertise. The award served as project endorsement, and her firm already has over 25 family clients thanks to targeted marketing.

The trio emphasised that while strong ideas are vital, the workshop bridged critical gaps in knowledge and structure to drive ventures forward.
