Andorra Delegation Visits BSC to Launch Supercomputing Programs for Businesses

A delegation from Andorra Recerca + Innovació (AR+I) visited the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) on Monday to advance collaboration on supercomputing, advanced data analysis and emerging technologies for Andorran companies.
The group, led by AR+I vice-president and Minister of the Presidency, Economy, Employment and Housing Conxita Marsol, along with AR+I manager Marta Domènech, toured BSC facilities. They met with BSC director Mateo Valero and Catalan Councillor for Research and Universities Núria Monserrat.
The visit launched a new four-year agreement under the DeepTech Program, renewing a one-year-old partnership. The deal supports Andorra's National Plan for Innovation and Economic Diversification through three core pillars.
It will attract specialised talent via a high-level fellowship scheme, connecting experts with BSC tools and local challenges, extending AR+I initiatives such as the Annexa't programme.
The programme also provides training via masterclasses, workshops and custom support on supercomputing, data analysis, artificial intelligence and related fields for Andorran businesses, startups and entrepreneurs.
Practical application forms the third focus, with pilots, projects and solutions developed through the Andorra Living Lab to address company, institutional and mountain-specific needs.
Marsol framed the effort as essential to building a competitive, diversified economy reliant on advanced tech. Domènech noted AR+I's role in linking research, business and public sectors to equip firms with fresh capabilities.
Technical discussions during the visit outlined implementation steps, aiming to establish Andorra as a centre for complex tech development and testing.
