Andorra Telecom Waives Call Charges to Colombia Amid Earthquake

Andorra Telecom is providing free calls from Andorra to Colombia for both mobile and fixed-line numbers while the earthquake emergency persists in the South American country.

The measure allows residents to contact family, friends, and others in Colombia without charge during the crisis. Company officials emphasized that it seeks to help Andorrans maintain ties with those affected, particularly in hard-hit areas.

The Foreign Affairs ministry reached out yesterday to seven Andorran tourists and one long-term resident in Colombia. None suffered harm from Monday's 7.4-magnitude quake. Two tourists are already returning to Andorra, while Colombian residents in the Principat monitor developments anxiously, many hailing from the worst-impacted zones of Chocó, Cali, and the coffee axis.

Colombia faces a national crisis, with dozens of buildings collapsed, hospitals overwhelmed by injuries, and several airports closed. Rescue efforts continue amid rubble, backed by over 180 army rescuers. The number of missing exceeds 1,000, though exact figures remain unclear.

Andorra Telecom will announce any updates to the waiver through its standard channels. The company has expressed solidarity with quake victims and Colombia's community in Andorra.
