The Col·legi Oficial de Metges d’Andorra ratified its board for another three years, highlighting past successes in tech upgrades and training while outlining goals for infrastructure and regulatory contributions.

Key Points

  • General assembly approved unchanged board on September 17.
  • Key achievements: digital overhaul with new database, website, and intranet; over 30 training events with 40+ speakers.
  • Updated statutes under review; future focus on new doctor integration and facility enhancements.

Albert Dorca has started his second three-year term as president of the Col·legi Oficial de Metges d’Andorra (COMA), with the general assembly approving the unchanged board on 17 September.

The leadership team—Dorca, Roser Bellmunt, Xavier Avellanet, Odile Sarroca and Frank Garcia—presented its record from the prior mandate and set priorities for the future during the meeting. Key achievements included a major internal digital overhaul: shifting to a modern, scalable database platform, positioning the corporate website as the primary information channel, and advancing the intranet toward full operation this autumn. Service contracts were also refreshed to build a solid technological base for future challenges.

The training programme emerged as another highlight, delivering more than 30 events, three rounds of medical update sessions, and input from over 40 speakers from Andorra and abroad. These initiatives fostered scientific dialogue and closer connections among members.

The board also drafted updates to the college’s statutes, now under review to align with current regulations and the demands of medical practice in the Principat.

Looking ahead, the team plans to sustain institutional efforts, help shape rules governing medical practice, and enhance college facilities. A central goal is easing the arrival of new doctors in Andorra, aiming to speed up their integration while delivering more responsive support to existing practitioners.
